EN – Event 2011

Videogames industry has been consolidating as the main entertainment generator. Though there has been a sustained growth, Mexico’s level is still behind the rest of Latin America, however, it is the most important retail market.

DevHour is an event in which videogame professionals and the related areas converge to share experiences, to learn, and to support the development of Mexican products with international quality, as well as to compete for a development market which is already open and anxious of contents.

With this event we look for to clinch the pillars for national development. We are ready for international competition and want to act like an authentic support for growth. We seek for all involved areas to meet, and accelerate Mexican videogame industry’s progress.

DevHour will take place on September 22nd and 23rd, 2011, at Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco (CCUT). It offers companies and developers related to videogames, a space to get in touch between each other. In addition, it generates opportunities so that independent developers, students and enthusiast can show their skills, besides knowing the possible areas of Mexican industry they can relate to. This way we seek Mexico’s videogame development to grow as well as making of it an important player of the industry worldwide.

 

DevHour is divided in 3 main areas:

 

 

ACADEMIC CYCLE

Offering a series of conferences and workshops carefully selected and divided on seven operation areas of a studio (game design, programming, visual arts, sound and music, production, administration, marketing and distribution), all complemented by specialized consultancy sessions for pre-enrolled projects.

 

INDUSTRIAL HALL

A space for the leading players of the national and international industries. (developers, providers, universities, general studies, etc.).

 

CULTURAL EXHIBITION

This is a selection of cultural pieces distributed through the space, in which we can find artwork referring to videogames or even proposals that to be used in videogames.
